Darcy Construction was appointed by Southampton City Council under a JCT Traditional contract to deliver a new £1.3m specialist Resource Unit for hearing-impaired children at Newlands Primary School in Millbrook, Southampton.
Working alongside Southampton City Council’s in-house design team, our team successfully constructed and delivered the single-storey junior wing extension on time and within budget over an 8-month construction timeline.

The purpose-built single-storey extension provides vital academic and support infrastructure designed specifically to meet the growing regional need for hearing-impaired educational places.
The new building features two brand-new junior classrooms, a specialist therapy room, a group room, a dedicated staff work room, a new plant room, storerooms, and fully accessible toilet facilities.
